Discover: Interactive Art Labels
The Solution
A collaborative work completed as a part of a two-day design jam
The Problem
The majority of artworks displayed along the campus of Humber College are undiscovered. Students and other officials on the campus do not pay attention to it and the artists fail to connect with the audience through their art.
Our Solution
A new feature of interactive art labels will be added to the Humber Campus Compass, an existing application that helps navigate the Humber College campus.

Humber Campus Compass
Humber Campus Compass application - a downloadable app that helps navigate through campuses.
It lets you know where to buy food, where the buildings are
located, so, why not let the students know if there is art nearby!
Features
1

Notifications
The phone will vibrate every time a person is within a 25 meters radius from artwork and provide directions. This will help provide more traffic for artworks that have been placed in unconventional locations within the campus
2

Chunking
The description will be divided into chunks, wherein each one will be pointed at a specific section within the artwork. This will encourage the viewers to look at the artwork and pay more attention to the details
3

QR Codes
QR Codes are displayed beside every artwork. Scanning this code takes you to the digital rat label in the Humber Campus Compass
